Our Deck Building Journey

Welcome!!! I’m Ben Watson, owner/operator of Big Pine Decks. I was born and raised in Bellevue, Nebraska, and completed my schooling at Bellevue East High School, followed by Bellevue University. I received a master’s degree in management and marketing while working part-time in construction and coaching baseball for Bellevue East. Prior to creating Big Pine Decks, I worked with my now father-in-law in his construction business for several years. He and I partnered up to create something together, and there came Big Pine Decks!! 

In my off time, I spend most of my nights and weekends with my beautiful wife, Kapri, and my two little guys, Whitten and Emmett. Fishing, hunting, and traveling are my passions outside of creating awesome, unique, and custom outdoor living spaces for my amazing clients!! I am so blessed to be able to do what I love and work with so many incredible people around the Omaha Metro area. What you will notice is when you work with us, you become part of our family. 

My name is Andrew Moritz, Project Manager with BPD. Born and raised in Bellevue, before moving to Lincoln to get my bachelor’s in business from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I explored many avenues before discovering my true calling in the construction industry.

I take pride in managing multiple projects simultaneously and building lasting relationships with clients, which has made me a key asset to the team. When not overseeing projects, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters. While occasionally sneaking away to play some golf from time to time.

My name is Mitch Schiefelbein, I have been working in the decking industry for the past two years and am a Foreman here at BPD. Growing up in a family-owned business, I developed a strong appreciation for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. As I continue to grow in the industry, I am excited to build on my skills and contribute to the growth of BPD.
