Big Pine Decks was built from the ground up by myself, Ben Watson, and my father-in-law, Ryan Mann. From the very beginning, we worked side by side – learning the trade, putting in long hours, and taking pride in building something the right way. What started as a shared vision turned into a company rooted in craftsmanship, trust, and doing right by every homeowner we work with. After several years of building together, Ryan went on to start GBR Exteriors, creating a sister company that allows us to offer a more complete solution – handling everything from custom decks to full exterior projects, all the way up to the roofline.
Ryan was born and raised in Ogallala, Nebraska, where hard work isn’t just expected – it’s a way of life. That upbringing shaped the standards we still hold ourselves to today: show up on time, do the job right the first time, and treat every customer with honesty and respect. That mindset isn’t just something we talk about – it’s built into every project we take on and every relationship we build.
With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Ryan has truly done it all. He started young, working on job sites and learning every part of the process hands-on – from framing and finishing to problem-solving in the field. Together, we’ve built, repaired, and improved homes of all kinds, always focusing on quality work that lasts. No shortcuts, no cutting corners – just solid craftsmanship and attention to detail.
