The Big Pine Decks story started back in 2018 up north in Perham, Minnesota. My family has been traveling to this part of Minnesota ever since my grandpa was a little kid! We always rent cabins on the lake and spend a week fishing, boating, golfing, and enjoying family time. I decided that I wanted to make this trip more memorable and propose to Kapri on the beach in front of both of our families. Fast forward to 2019, we were in the process of creating our new company. We knew we wanted our name to have a deeper meaning, so my mother-in-law Julie asked, “Well what brought us all together in the first place?”. The answer came to us right away, where I proposed to Kapri, Big Pine Lake!!
As you can tell by reading through our website and our story, this whole thing really is about family. You will also see that my Foreman and Project Manager, Mitch & Andrew, are two of my best long-time friends (Andrew) and my cousin (Mitch). People always say it’s dangerous to work with friends/family, but for us, its exactly how we would want it!!
My name is Andrew Moritz, Project Manager with BPD. Born and raised in Bellevue, before moving to Lincoln to get my bachelor’s in business from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I explored many avenues before discovering my true calling in the construction industry.
I take pride in managing multiple projects simultaneously and building lasting relationships with clients, which has made me a key asset to the team. When not overseeing projects, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters. While occasionally sneaking away to play some golf from time to time.
